Dear Friends,

I picked this just for you.
XOXO, Mackenzie

PS - I am 15 monthes old today! :)

Happy President's Day

Just some cute pics to show how Mackenzie and I spent a nice day together to celebrate President's day - we went shopping, where she helped push the cart around the store and played at home. We were dog-sititng for Uncle Jon's dog, Guinness - and Mackenzie LOVED his kennel. Please also note her new "big girl" Nike shox shoes - which she loves to run in! And also notice how LONG the piggy tails are becoming as well.....like I said earlier - such a big girl! And her spiky, curled piggy tails ALWAYS gain attention and compliments when we are out and about.

Growing Up

Every day - Mackenzie becomes more little girl and less baby. Her newest grown up thing is insisting on using a spoon to feed herself. The pics show her eating yogurt - and I will atest that she did not stop until she had cleaned the containter out! And each spoonful is typically accompanied by her announcement "Mmmm - Yum!" Unfortunatly - I am not sure how much she actually ate as opposed to wearing - as you can see from the last picture. But practice will make perfect.

Good-Night Prayer

Mackenzie's Good Night Prayer

Dear Lord -

Please watch over me and keep me safe while I sleep tonight. I have tried very hard to be a good little angel today. I know I am not supposed to play in the toilet, but I couldn't resist the temptation tonight when Daddy fell asleep during Baby Einstein (and to think he thought I would fall for that old trick). That is why I am wearing this interesting combo of jammies (Dora meets halloween kitties) - please keep me safe and warm in my bed so I can wake up in the morning and wear one of the many cute outfits I have been blessed with. I would be embarassed for anyone to see me looking like this. And I promise to try to resist the toilet temptation better next time.

Your little angel always - Mackenzie Jean

Bald Eagle Days

So you probably already know that Jamey and I enjoy watching the bald eagles on the river in the area during the winter monthes. Since my drive to school follows along the river - I see many of them every morning and it is such a highlight to the drive (cheesy as it sounds). We were excited to hear about "Bald Eagle Days" at a convention center this weekend, as we looked forward to teaching Mackenzie about our nations symbolic bird. BOY - were we disappointed!! The "Bald Eagle Days" was really code for a ghetto outdoor 'swap meet' of sorts - many boothes of outdoorsy items to buy, very few exhibits teaching about the birds. The pics show the closest we got to Bald Eagles while there. Biggest disappointment - we PAID to get in!!!!

Bald Eagle Days continued.....

Because Bald Eagles and public transportation just go together so well, right?? (We got lots of chuckles and odd looks when we posed for this pic - but I need it for the scrapbook!)
