Our little "Squirt"

Today was "Boo at the Zoo" - where you can go trick or treating at the zoo. We went with a few other friends and their daughters and had a great time together. Our god-daughter Elisabeth was Nemo, good friend Gracie was a giraffe and Elisabeth's friend Emily was the monkey. (Interesting note: I bought the "Squirt" costume for Mackenzie LAST year, before she had even arrived!) Our girls were the only ones dressed as Nemo & Squirt and they sure got lots of attention from passerbys. Mackenzie enjoyed her first taste of a sucker and got very upset when she dropped it on the ground. She enjoyed riding in the wagon with Gracie. We had bought Halloween Pez dispensers for our friends - which Gracie especially loved - and then Mackenzie enjoyed playing with the discarded wrapping. Mackenzie was particularly taken with a monkey exhibit - you can see her reaching out towards it.

First Halloween Party

Last weekend, the neighborhood had a Halloween party for the children. And it was held at our daycare's home - so Mackenzie was quite comfortable and happy to be there. She made her way around the party and visited with everyone - I think she sat in just about everyone's lap! She also liked watching the big kids play the games as well - such as helping out by chewing on the toilet paper for the wrap your mummy game.

As you can see from the pictures - Mackenzie quite enjoys "pretty" things. She has just recently started to brush her hair (and usually sings or talks to herself while she does it too). First time I saw that - I ran for the video camera and did get it on tape - it was sooo precious! She also has discovered bead necklaces and LOVES to suck on them. And of course, the cupboards are always fun too - there so many neat fun things to take out and play with - like all of Mommy's products. I guess I should get used to sharing with her now! :)

Swimming Lessons

Mackenzie has started to take Parent-Tot swimming lessons this fall and LOVES them! She really enjoys being in the water and is quite comfortable splashing and swimming about. She loves to jump in! And she doesn't mind going underwater either. Today was the first time we could both go, so we could get some pictures. Also important, Mackenzie has been complimented TWICE by two DIFFERENT instructors on what a good and advanced swimmer she is for 10 monthes old!! :)

Ring Ring - its for you!

Happy Fall and October! To mark the first day of October, our little pumpkin wore some of her pumpkin gear today - and looked oh-so-cute! She also got ahold of my cell phone tonight and as you can see from the pictures - she is very well aware of what to do with it as well! It is amazing how much she is learning, doing and growing every day.
