This Week in Pictures

On Sunday - Mackenzie celebrated her 10 month birthday!!
Here are some pics of her from the past week to enjoy!
I finally can crawl like a big girl now. And boy am I fast, too!
Apparently, Mackenzie was tired - as here she is with her bedtime bottle attempting to go to sleep on the kitchen floor!
SAY CHEESE! Mac & Cheese that is.
Too Cool in Daddy's sunglasses
Apparently, Squirrel and Big Bird are good friends. (and yes, that is a mountain of toys on teh couch from when we vacuumed)
Peek - A- Boo....apparently, Mackenzie has learned well from the cat and dog. And see the toy mountain above.....yet she insists on playing with this rubber cat toy ball.
"Itty!"

We are pretty sure that she says "itty" for cat - which is one of her favorite toys around.

The Laundry Basket

Mackenzie is getting over a case of parainfluenza-strep. This really knocked her out - she was running a temperature upwards of 103 - including one super scary reading of 106!!! Thankfully, she is finally feeling better and getting back to her spunky self - as evidenced by her adventures tonight. Someone decided to amuse themselves before their bath by getting into the laundry basket in our bedroom - thankfully it was CLEAN laundry. The pictures show what I found crawling down the hallway. Apparently, someone thinks they are in need of a pagent sash. And yes, those are a CLEAN pair of my underwear she is using for that purpose. She is also waving around one of Jamey's socks. (Part of me can't believe that I am posting a picture of my skivvies on the internet for my friends and family to see. At least it was a decent pair!)

The newest toy (for the adults)

Here are some pics of the newest addition to the back deck!! Not hooked up yet, so not fully functional yet - but hopefully soon. As you can see, Jamey couldn't wait to try it out - even though it was still only a balmy 60 degrees as the water was coming out of the hose!! Check out the look of frozen shock on his face for proof. Foster was anxious to try it out too, but we did manage to keep him out (for now, at least). I keep saying this year's bonfire will be excellant - the ladies can sit and chill in the tub and the boys can bring up the smores!! :) Eternal love and thankfulness to Jon for all of his help, too!

Yummy Yummy - More Mackenzie and Food pictures

Firstly - we let Mackenzie sample some chips and salsa this weekend at one of our fave Mexican restaurants. As you can see - it was quite the hit with her! She is becoming more and more grown up everyday - especially with her food selections/tastes, as she is becoming increasingly displeased with the baby food offerings. Cheerios continue to remain a fun favorite - she enjoys throwing them around and feeding Foster as well. (again - note super cute piggy tails!) And the scrunched up mouth face is also a new favorite thing to do. It is usually accompanied by some nasal snorting and huffing and she thinks she is so funny when she does it, too. This is something that has been learned at day care, as they have taught all of the little girls to "get ugly". Mackenzie won't do it on command yet, but I am sure that day is coming. I had to laugh this weekend when some stranger was trying to talk to her at Target and Mackenzie didn't want anything to do with them - so she made this face at them, huffed and intentionally turned away. At least she didn't shake her head "No No" like she has been picking up too!

Stop or I'll Shoot!! Deputy Jamey takes to the street

Last week, Jamey did his first uniformed ride as a sheriff's deputy. Watch your speeding folks!! Thankfully, he didn't run into anyone he knew during his shift! (And I did get lots of grief when insisting on taking these pictures, too - if you were curious!)

a long overdue update

I guess the purpose of this is to keep it current. Sorry I seem to be slacking in that department. Guess I will have to post lots of pics to make up for it. Our keyboard did meet a long and lengthy death over the past weeks, which did make typing hard during it's passing. But anyway - here our the most recent happenings with us!

A new favorite thing to do is standing up in the bathtub. All dressed up for a birthday party - can you see the piggy tails?? I have been told that they are quite teh desperate hair do, but they sure generate lots of comments whenever and wherever she wears them - which is happening more frequently now. She has also become quite fond of her blankie and Grinch when sleeping - as evidenced in the pictures. When she is angry with us (usually fighting sleep), we will find the poor Grinch has been hurled out of her crib and laying on the floor. Which leads to another favorite thing to do - throwing things, especially food. Last week for Jamey's birthday - Mackenzie got in trouble for throwing pieces of her cake at her great Grammy Jean!! Grammy of course thought she was just sharing! :)

Go Spartans!!!

Friday night, Mackenzie got to experience her first high school football game at Jamey's alma mater. Unfortunatly, the team didn't win but we all had a good time chatting with people we know and enjoying the sights & sounds of high school football. Mackenzie was a little confused about who to cheer for, as she started clapping when the other team made a good play and the rest of the stands around us groaned. However, she was most mesmerized by the band - much to Mommy's delight! (and Aunt Jen & Aunt Kate's I would imagine, too) As soon as the band struck the first note of the half-time show - she was intently focused and watched the entire time. I think it was the combination of the loud noise mixed with all the action and sparkle from the lights hitting the horns that drew her in - but either way - she is off to a good musical start!! (I also showed her the cheerleaders and dance team so she could start weighing her options) Lastly, you know you are getting older when you are excited that the high school band's half time show is a mix of 80's songs that you recognize and enjoy! (which did make bopping around with Mackenzie even more fun!)
