The new addition

Our new nephew/cousin,
Walker Wilson D*** entered the world on Tuesday, Sept 9, 2008,
weighing in at 8 lbs 7 ounces and 20" long.

Mackenzie was quite excited to go meet the new baby, but was less than thrilled with him when we got there. She did insist on calling him "my baby", and offered him a chicken nugget. She asked to see his feet and made Great Grammy take his socks off so she could inspect them closer. But she refused to touch him, hold him, have her picture taken with him or be anywhere near him. Which was surprising, considering how much she loves baby dolls. She also insisted on being Mommy's girl the whole time we visited. I think it was probably a bit of a shock to see a real live baby for her.

She enjoyed spending time with Great Grammy (Mimi), Nana and Ba-Pa, who were also there to visit Walker. Mackenzie really enjoyed catching a ride out with Mimi.

However, as we were walking to the car - the life flight helicopter was taking off, and we happened to be RIGHT THERE (probably as close as you can get) - it was cool to see and Mackenzie was enthralled until we were seriously almost BLOWN backwards by the force of air from take-off. It has been a long time since Mackenzie clung and screamed like that - too bad I couldn't hear her over the helicopter. Too bad Daddy is out of town and missed that - he would have been so cheezed to get to watch the helicopter.

But it does make you say a little prayer for whomever is needing the helicopter services and hope for the continued health and safety of your own loved ones, along with your counting your blessings. Welcome to the World Little Walker!!
